About
My name is Sam and I'm a 25 year old lazy girl from Ohio, hoping to turn myself into a hottie before it's too late! I currently work 3 jobs while I try to find my place in the working world. It's hectic and a little discouraging at times but I would love to use a blog to gather a community of friends and followers to help motivate and inspire me to live a better, more fulfilled life!

A glossary of beings you may read about here:
Chaz - Chaz is my hilarious, talented, smart, and cute boyfriend fiancé! We live together in a cute little apartment with our two cats! We have been together for three years (got engaged on our 3 year anniversary!) and are as happy as clams.

Weezer & Pixel - Our two cats! We had a dog for two weeks but things didn't work out with her so we thought it would be best to give her back to the animal shelter we adopted her from :( So we searched for a while and decided we wanted to adopt two Maine Coon brother cats, who we named Pixel and Weezer. Pixel has a black dot on his face like a pixel on a screen, so Chaz (n3rd) named him. I called Weezer "Lil' Weezy" one day and am not fond of Lil' Wayne but was fond of the name, so his true name became Weezer.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you follow back?
Most likely, yes! Please feel free to ask me to check out your blog. My mission with my own blog is mainly to make friends, so don't be shy!

When did you start blogging?
I actually have been blogging for a lot of my life, off and on. It started mainly with XANGA! Do you remember Xanga?! Xanga got me hooked on the internet and hooked on doing layouts and web design. I haven't done that stuff in a long time, so this layout is from someone else with lots of tweaking from myself, sadly :( Maybe someday I will start making my own again; I do miss it!

Why don't you talk about ______?
I try to talk about as much as I can think of but if you have suggestions for things I should review or check out and blog about, please be sure to leave a comment or send me an email: simple.little.something@gmail.com
I am always looking for new challenges and new things to try!

What do you do besides blogging?
I work for a concert venue production company where I post on their Facebook page about all of the upcoming concerts. I also work at a small grocery market a few days a week and have been there for almost 4 years! I enjoy Netflix, snuggling with my boyfriend and kitties, doing crafts, sudoku, playing video games, riding bikes, eating chocolate, and being lazy most of the time, whoops!

What brought you to Blogspot/Blogger?
Xanga seems to be dead these days and I wanted a place where I feel like my posts wouldn't get lost quickly (like they do on Tumblr) but that was active enough and widely accepted on many other people's blogs so I could hopefully get some exposure to other blogs and hopefully bring traffic to my own!

What else should we know about you?
I try to have an open mind most of the time and I am open to new things and new people. I type A LOT sometimes instead of getting to the point quickly, which can be annoying. I am definitely still a kid at heart so my posts could very easily be Pokemon or Adventure Time related if I so please! But most of all, I would love to be your friend!

Super excited for our New Year's Eve partay! We have a lot planned and I hope everything works out. And then it will be the new year, which means time to kick my exercising / watching my food intake for a while because as of today, I am at only 5 more pounds to lose in 18 days (January 17th is the goal date that this app on my phone gave me, and it's been working great as a motivator so far cause I've lost 4-almost 5 pounds since I began tracking with it) to get to my goal I set about 50 or so days ago. I also am continuing to make my "I weigh less than I have for almost a year" number get lower and lower and I'm FINALLY out of the range that I was stuck in forever!!! I WAS SOOOO HAPPY TO SEE THIS, you have no idea. Hopefully this will be motivation to never be in that range again. Wow, in the short time it took me to type up this entry, I've already downed 24 ounces of water. I love my new water bottle, I totally recommend a Camelback. I love that you have to bite the straw haha. I'm craving water a lot more because of it, too, which is excellent!

KEEP GOING, SAM!

Uhh, long time no post (or exercise). :( that's right, I haven't exercised in a while. Been busy dogsitting and getting ready for Christmas (which was awesome, by the way. I hope whoever happens to read this had a wonderful holiday season as well). However, I still somehow weigh less than I have for a long time!! I'm not sure how but maybe some of the extra wandering all over work and shopping malls recently has been my extra exercise. My body fat percentage is also the lowest it has been since I began recording all of that over a year ago. I'm hoping to get back into the groove of exercise and blogging though now that things should get back to normal here pretty soon. I start school again next week, bleh. I get out of classes an hour later than I did last quarter, but maybe since I don't have class until later in the day, maybe I can wake up and get my exercise out of the way each morning. I just finished doing the 20 minute Zumba DVD, which I haven't done in a while. It was fun and went by really fast, however, I think I might try my hand at the Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred again and see if I can get past the first 10 days. I did 10 days the first time I tried it then I lost motivation but again, maybe this blog will help me. I think after a big ice cold drink of water in a second, I might even go ahead and pop the Zumba Flat Abs DVD in the PS3! I have some extra energy now so yay.

Edit: Scratch that Zumba Flat Abs; I found Hip Hop Abs on my computer for a 6 minute ab workout and it was awesome and kicked my butt haha. I can feel it though so I'm totally going to start doing that more often haha, damn! I also forgot to mention that I bought a new water bottle (since I somehow lost my favorite one when I was camping with Chaz & Co. :( ) and I have been drinking a lot more water! But I'm still constantly thirsty and I have really dry skin so I need to moisturize as well. But I just bought a Hello Kitty humidifier on Amazon! Yay! Here's my new Camelback water bottle from Target.

Rest Days
Sunday, December 11, 2011 @ 1:51 AM
Friday and Saturday ended up being rest days, I guess because I was busy and whatever. Back at it when I get home from work tonight though. New measurements on Monday. Also, I weighed myself Saturday morning and my weight/BF% is the lowest it has been in like half a year, so that's exciting. Keep going!! I need to focus on what I eat now, though.

Results SHOWING?! ALREADY?!
Friday, December 9, 2011 @ 12:59 PM
Today has been great so far. Woke up to an awesome sunrise (although I wasn't feeling too grand, having stayed up til about 4:30am dilly dallying on my iPhone, then having to be up and at work at 8am), then I made a little boy's day by searching all over at work and finding him the last box of candy canes that had the blue ones in it. He gave me a big hug and his grandma thanked me profusely, it was really cute. But THEN Tom (one of the managers at work) made my day when he stopped me in the breakroom and said "Can I ask you a question? It's personal!" and I said "Sure" and he quietly asked "Are you losing weight?" and I burst out with "YES! I'm trying to anyway. I have been working out consistently for a few days." He said that he noticed a few weeks ago and when I had walked by him and Jeff (another manager he was talking to at that moment), Jeff asked Tom if he thought I was losing weight too. So at least 2 people have noticed changes already! THAT'S SO EXCITING! Any motivation is so helpful and it totally made my day, although I haven't really noticed much difference myself, but I see myself every day and that's the main difference. So I will not be discouraged if things are not instantaneous, I just have to keep working hard. Chaz will be here tonight so I will most likely make him play Just Dance 2 with me to secretly get some exercise in while he's here, hehe!

I Hate Thinking of Titles
Thursday, December 8, 2011 @ 9:53 PM
I was very productive today! I washed my bed sheets and went through my side table and my bookshelf and I'm pretty much just working my way around my room to try to clean things out and consolidate and minimize everything so my room isn't so cluttered. My closet will be the worst part, I think. I have waaay too many clothes. A lot of the time when it looks like a bomb went off in my room, it's mainly just clothes everywhere. So when I move into my own house, a big closet separate from my room is a MUST! Hopefully connected to the bathroom somehow would be awesome. Anyway, results!

I added 100 jumping jacks to the mix today!
1 set from the Ab sheet
Elliptical - Weight Loss 1 ~ 30 minutes - 1.05 miles - 351 calories
(I really need to get Netflix updated on the Wii so I can watch shows and go longer)

Time! Time! Who's Got The Time!
Wednesday, December 7, 2011 @ 5:21 PM
I have decided: screw time, just try to do at least a mile each time. Did mine for the day. Now for some abs and maybe some yoga! Need to find my DS though. I highly recommend Let's Yoga (game for the Nintendo DS). I love using it for routines and it has a great tracker on it as well.

I have added a few (right now) meaningless pages to the top of the blog, don't mind them for now.

Today's results! Some elliptical and a set from the ab sheet.

Good Hair Day Dilemma = SOLVED
Tuesday, December 6, 2011 @ 6:40 PM
When Mom came home from work today, she came into my room and said that I looked nice! In my sweatpants and hoodie?! She said my hair looked nice, so I went to look and by golly, it DOES look nice today! So I decided since Chaz (he's my boyfriend <3) just texted me and said he might be coming over to see me later, I thought I would get my workout for the day out of the way. BUT, I didn't want to get all sweaty, being that my hair looks awesome, so I did a set of ab workouts from this sheet that I've had forever that I ripped out of a Real Simple magazine (LOVE that mag, by the way. Definitely check it out). It says to do 2 sets but I was feeling it REALLY bad from just the first one (I don't do ab workouts very often, so I will bare with this until I am stronger), so I'll start out slow and easy and work my way to more reps another day, not on a good hair day! But at least I got a decent little workout in for today. I'm hoping to make a post in the future about ways to fit in a workout when you just can't get to the gym or aren't really feeling up to it, but you don't want to miss out on exercising each day. You don't have to go hard all the time. Take it easy occasionally in order to stay motivated. I'm gonna go stretch out on the floor and finish writing this LAST paper of the quarter so I can spend time with Chaz when he gets here :)

Here's the sheet from Real Simple. You do each of them 10 or so times each for a set:

OH! I also set up my Excel workbook! I'll post that another time though.

That Went Fast!
Monday, December 5, 2011 @ 10:22 PM
My heart is a-racin, so my main goal for tonight has been accomplished. I think my main problem is not enough cardio/activity, so I am hoping that throughout this process I am able to get plenty of cardio in there!

Now, my results from my first night!

I think I will save my blogging for before and after my workout, not during because I was definitely slacking at the beginning while trying to multi-task, so my distance is a little weak. However, once I posted that entry, I put the phone down and stepped up my game. I was around a 67-70 speed, which I think is okay for me to go hard right now because I am not new to the elliptical, I'm just new to tracking my weight loss achievements and goals. A speed like that for beginners might give them sore calves in the morning. To prevent this (for me personally), I was drinking lots of water while I was on the machine and if I seem to get uncomfortable stepping forward, I almost always end up stepping backward on it. While doing this I also like to let go of the handles (which can be dangerous, so if you do this PLEASE be careful!!) and try to work on keeping my balance!

Hmm... blogging is a pretty nice cool down... :) Off to finish my giant cup of water! Remember to always rehydrate!

Let's Begin Now.
9:47 PM
It has begun! I am finished dog sitting and was able to get back home early enough to have mom take my official beginning measurements. She wasn't too serious about it, so I'm sure they aren't as accurate as they could or should be, but close enough is good for me. This is an officially unofficial workout blog, after all. Below (soon) is an Excel sheet that I will hopefully keep updated with my measurements each week. I have not mentioned my goals yet, which I am still trying to think about and trying to dwindle down to something obtainable. We all have weight loss dreams, but I believe it's important to be honest with yourself from the get-go and try to evaluate your goals and make them reasonable enough for YOU, not for those who may be motivating you or who you may be trying to impress. Start out little and slow and work your way to awesome. If you hurt yourself at the beginning then you can't continue, then you're REALLY defeating the purpose.

So, tonight I am starting out on the elliptical because the rain always makes my back hurt, so low impact will be just fine. Below is what the set up of our elliptical machine looks like, although there are more buttons on the other side, but I will work up to those ones.

Tonight (as I type this, to be exact) I am doing the Weight Loss 1 button on the side. It is 30 minutes of progressive incline. The levels are 2 - 4 - 6, each with more resistance than the last for about 2 minutes each, and then the 6 goes back to 2, and so on. I'm at 100 calories so far! I think I will do this for 2 weeks, as many times as I can each week. And then go to Weight Loss 2 for 2 weeks and so on until I can work up to the buttons that say things like "Performance" "Aerobics" etc on the other side.
The elliptical machine is upstairs, which is awesome because my dad has a theater up here and my Wii is hooked up with Netflix AND I have 2 more seasons of Skins [UK] to watch, so I am definitely excited to be doing all of this and having something to pass the time quickly and make it not seem like a workout at all. First night's result post coming up later!

Testing! Testing!
Sunday, December 4, 2011 @ 9:07 PM
This post is to test out the Blogger app on my trusty iPhone (which I absolutely LOVE! It has already helped me so much with my exercising / weight tracking). I have found lots of great apps and websites to help stay motivated and will most likely be making posts in the future about each of them, as a sort of casual product review, I suppose. I still haven't decided whether I want to spread the URL to this site around yet to make it OFFICIALLY public because I might post before and after pictures when I make goals and whatnot. Maybe I will nix that idea and go public after all. We shall see!

But I will say that either tomorrow or Tuesday I will officially begin the start of hopefully, eventually turning into a cute little hottie! I'm still young, but I think everyone can agree that time seems to be flying by a lot faster than it used to so I need to begin ASAP. I have an exam tomorrow and I have to stay at the Hess' to finish my last day of dog sitting until 8pm or so, but they have an awesome workout room (check out the picture below), so if I arrive back here at a decent time, maybe I really can begin tomorrow! I would begin tonight but I need to study. Who knows, maybe I'll read some notes on the treadmill...

Let the Games Begin!
2:41 PM
I have decided to start another blog! I think I will keep it a secret for now because I have some exercise plans for the blog and some other fun things planned and once I get those figured out, then I will maybe tell people about it. I'm trying it on Blogger for now, but I might move it over to Livejournal in the future, just for the better communities and probably better inspiration, but we'll see. I have an iPhone now too, so I will hopefully be able to update on the go! I'm really excited and very inspired at the moment. Hopefully people will comment on what I have to say, but this is mainly for me to keep track of some things in the future. Then maybe I will get to talking about things and recommending things that I use to make my life easier!
